INVITATION FOR YOUR FLU VACCINATION - PATIENTS WITH A HEALTH CONDITION AGED 18 – 64 YEARS ONLY
In light of the Coronavirus pandemic, the way in which we are delivering the Flu Vaccination Programme this year is quite different to how it has been done in the past. Please carefully read the following information.
This year’s Flu Campaign is the responsibility of Greater Glasgow and Clyde Health Board. The Practice is assisting the Health Board to deliver only part of the Immunisation Programme.
You have been identified by the Practice as a person aged 18 – 64 years who has a health condition qualifying you to receive the flu vaccination. All other patients outwith the 18-64 at risk age group will be offered the vaccination at an alternative venue and date. Please do not arrange any appointment for other than the person invited by text or letter.
Arranging your Appointment
The Practice will be holding Appointment Only Clinics run by our Healthcare Assistants Monday to Wednesday as from Monday 23 November 2020. These appointments will be held in Wing E at the Health Centre (the former Badejo Practice). Appointments can be made by ringing Cochrane Medical Practice on 01475 553560.
Please be aware once appointments are made the Practice will check all patients eligibility if they should receive the vaccine. The Practice will only receive enough vaccinations for those patients who have been identified as at-risk and eligible for the flu vaccination.
Attending for your Flu Vaccination
On the day of your appointment if you have any Coronavirus symptoms please do not attend the Health Centre. You should self-isolate and book a test online via the NHS Inform website.
Your Flu Appointment
When you arrive at the Health Centre, please ensure you are wearing a face covering. All clinical staff will be wearing a mask for their protection and yours. You should arrive on your own and remain outside the Health Centre and enter no more than 5 minutes before your appointment time.
You should go straight to Wing E. A member of the Administration Team will be available to check your temperature and book you in for your appointment. You should stand on a designated social distancing line and wait for the Healthcare Assistant to call you.
Leaving the Health Centre you should exit through the fire door and turn right following the path. This is to help with patient numbers in one area at any one time and to maintain social distancing.
Current advice is where possible the practice should avoid face to face contact with patients. Consequently if appropriate you may be offered a telephone consultation. Patients where clinically appropriate will be able to see a GP.We ask patients to be understanding in the current unprecedented situation and consider whether their symptoms could be self manged, or advice taken from allied health professionals in the Minor Ailments pharmacy service. This allows GPs to prioritise their time on patients who are significantly more unwell or complex. Patients should not attend the Practice to make an appointment and should make contact by telephone only to avoid any potential spread of infection.
REPEAT PRESCRIPTION DURING CORONAVIRUS
For safety during the Coronavirus outbreak we are asking all patients to nominate a pharmacy for their prescription to go to directly.
PLEASE DO NOT ATTEND THE SURGERY TO ORDER OR COLLECT REPEAT PRESCRIPTIONS. If you already have prescriptions lying waiitn to collect you will be asked to wait outside our doors. Please bear with our staff during this difficult time. We are all working additional hours to try and meet very request made, but cannot oblige requests for immediate prescriptions or additional supplies. We need to ensure there is enough medication for all patients.

Greenock Health Centre has disabled access in all patient areas, including waiting rooms and consulting rooms. There are toilet facilities accessible to disabled patients. Parking spaces for disabled are situated outside the main entrance.
